I know it seems like every web designer you follow can design a beautiful UI, code in the latest and greatest of CSS3 & HTML and still have the energy to work on a side project until 4am (and then make a podcast about the experience the next day).The key words here are “seems like.” They can’t. They’re lying to you.

We aspire to do big things. Like really big things. Things that other people dream of doing, except in our dream we’re doing it first. We could come up with a couple, potentially brilliant, ideas a week. If only we could take a few of those and just make them awesome.

What if we’re coming to grips with the realization that the Internet can be more for humanity’s gain and less about business? What if it was about people and not corporations.

I struggle with this public persona thing. In “real life” I am way too shy and way too self-conscious. One of the big draws to the Internet for me has always been that I could be more “outgoing” than I would be if I was actually having face-to-face conversations.

At the end of November I made an impromptu decision to take a break from Twitter. Just decided to stop using it. To stop checking it incessantly.
