Intelligent Identity Security Platform
10+ years of iterating on a one-of-a-kind platform
The foundation for everything I have worked on for the past decade is the Sontiq IIS platform and it's continuous evolution. IIS stands for Intelligent Identity Security and this platform is the host for dozens of unique identity theft, fraud, and security protection services.
The platform features many common capabilities: registration and account login, password resets and two-factor authentication, CRUD functions (create, read, update and delete), protection plans and billing information, etc.
But there are also a lot of unique capabilities we have built up over the years to effectively capture and securely store an individual's PII (personally identifiable information), a custom built alerting system to notifiy customers when sensitive information has been exposed on the Dark Web, as well as a myriad of opportunities to monitor credit reports, social media accounts, financial account transactions, and more.
In addition to developing these product offerings, and working to balance their presentation so that customers would in fact use them, we also introduced many ways the platform could be customized by partner organizations that offer our services to their customers. Many financial institutions partner with us to extend identity theft protection to customers who have banking or checking accounts, for example, and we will work with them to customize the platform so that it looks and works more seamlessly with their existing offerings.
Beyond working on all the different experiences, feature sets, products, etc., I have been an advocate for addressing performance and accessibility issues. While still not perfect, we have come a long way in the past 10 years. Page load times that used to take close to 30 seconds reliably load in under 3 seconds now. Accessibility audits that felt impossible to tackle are now not only understandable but actionable and we are working to implement accessibility tests as part of the development process. The end goal is that no code change can make it to production if it introduces an issue.
